The heart of it all
Before you discover who you are, you need to know the One who created you.
Whether you've followed Jesus for years, you're finding your way back to Him, or you're not even sure what you believe yet, you're invited. This page holds the Gospel, freely and without anything required of you first.
Where it begins
You were created by God, and He loves you.
You are not here by accident. God created you, knows you, and loves you. You were made to have a relationship with Him.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…”
John 3:16
The separation
But there is something that separates us from God: sin.
What is sin?
Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against God and His ways.
All of us have sinned. None of us are perfect, and we cannot make ourselves right with God by simply trying to be a 'good person.'
Sin separates us from God, but God loved us too much to leave us separated from Him.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
That's why Jesus came
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
He came to earth, lived a sinless life, and willingly died on the cross for our sins. He took the punishment we deserved.
But Jesus did not stay dead.
Three days later, He rose from the dead.
Because of Jesus, your sins can be forgiven and you can have a relationship with God.
You don't have to earn His love.
You don't have to clean yourself up first.
You come to Him by faith.
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
So, what do I do?
The Bible tells us to repent and believe.
To repent means to recognize your sin, turn away from living life your own way, and turn toward God.
To believe means putting your trust in Jesus. It means believing that He died for your sins, rose again, and is Lord.
You are not saved because you became perfect.
You are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus.
“If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9
Are you ready to follow Jesus?
You can talk to God right where you are.
There aren't special words you have to say. God cares about your heart.
“God, I know that I have sinned and I need You. I believe that Jesus died for my sins and rose again. I turn away from my sin and put my faith in Jesus. Forgive me and change my heart. I want Jesus to be Lord of my life. Teach me how to know You, follow You, and live for You. In Jesus' name, amen.”
The prayer itself isn't what saves you. Jesus saves you. Prayer is simply one way of expressing your faith to God.
Jesus saves you.
What happens now?
Following Jesus is the beginning of a new life with Him.
Start talking to God through prayer. Read the Bible and learn who He is. Find a Bible believing church where you can grow alongside other Christians.
And when you mess up, don't run away from God. Come back to Him.
You don't have to know everything today.
Just start with Jesus.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
